Exploring Zion National Park
Due to National Park Service restrictions, all professionally guided activities will take place outside park boundaries. At some point during your stay, you should spend some time exploring inside Zion National Park itself. The conference hotel, Cable Mountain Lodge, is located just steps from the park entrance with easy access to shuttles that stop at nearly every trailhead in Zion Canyon. A complete map of Zion National Park and many of its trails can be found at the National Park Service website. This site also reports the elevation gain and gives some idea of the level of difficulty for each trail. Participants can choose among easy trails, such as Weeping Rock or Emerald Pool, or more strenuous hikes such as Angels Landing or Observation Point. Regardless of your physical ambition, the natural beauty of the landscape is sure to impress.
- Join a group, walk from the hotel to the Zion Canyon shuttle stop (about a 5 minute walk), and get off at the appropriate trailhead.
